Suites offer the most spacious accommodation on board any cruise ship and usually feature separate living areas and multiple bedrooms.
Most cruise lines offer both suites and mini-suites, with guests who are staying in suites receiving significant benefits such as butler service, a private concierge, luxury amenities, hot tubs and even grand pianos. It is important to check the benefits of each category as guests staying in mini-suites may not receive the same benefits as those in full suites.
Guests staying in suites can often expect exclusive access to private areas on board. These range from VIP lounges and private verandas to dining venues such as the Cunard’s Grills Restaurants and Celebrity Cruises’ Luminae Restaurant. Suites in the likes of MSC Cruises’ Yacht Club and Norwegian Cruise Line’s Haven offer complete areas reserved exclusively for use by suite guests. These areas often included secluded pool areas, outdoor ‘garden’ areas and cocktail party venues capable of accommodating up to 200 guests.
Cruise lines including Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International offer a variety of suite types, from junior suites to penthouses and even Royal Suites spread over two floors. Cunard is famous for its suites, which are broken down into Grills. Princess Grills is Cunard’s version of the mini-suite, though still very large. Queens Grill suites are some of the largest in the cruise industry, whilst the Grand Master Suite is considered the pinnacle of accommodation aboard the luxury liners.
Family suites offer multiple bedrooms for larger families and groups, however these are very popular and very limited in number, so do tend to get booked up very quickly.
