Religious Services
Not all cruise lines offer religious services and very few provide a dedicated chapel on board. While some cruise lines offer no religious services at all, others may invite clergy on board to conduct services for certain religious events such as Easter Sunday or Christmas. In this case, religious services will usually be held in the ship’s lounges or theatre.
Where religious services are not usually offered, it is common for the Captain or the next ranking officer to hold an ecumenical service every Sunday. Once again, this depends on the cruise line you are travelling with. Please speak to reception once on board for more information.
Cruise lines including P&O Cruises do offer the facilities for passengers to organise their own religious services on board, with reception making the necessary arrangements provided enough people have requested the service.
A number of cruise operators are able to provide wedding and vow renewal ceremonies on board. Please see our weddings guide for more information.
