Luxury cruise suites have always been popular, but with our travel ambitions hindered for so long, the urge to splash out has never been greater. From the butler who welcomes you back to your suite with a glass of chilled champagne after a day of exploring, to the indulgent spa bath that’s all yours to take whenever you like, there’s no feeling quite like it.
If you’ve got your sights set on some five or even six-star cruising, we’ve put together a list of some of the best ultra-luxury accommodation that money can buy.
Vista is the brand new ship from Oceania Cruises, so when she launches in spring 2023, you’ll be among the first to board. Bringing ultra sophistication to the ocean waves, Vista only offers all veranda accommodation – but it’s the Owners’ Suite that has really caught our attention.
There are three Owner’s Suites on board Vista, each one measuring an impressive 2,400 square feet. Floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright and airy atmosphere, where you’ll be able to sit back and relax as the scenery constantly changes right before your eyes.
Ralph Lauren Home styling adds an extra touch of luxury, with highlights including a double-doored entry to the grand foyer and a chic rosewood cocktail bar that’s yours to use throughout your cruise. In the master bedroom you’ll discover a Cote d’Azur king-size bed and huge walk-in wardrobes, while the bathroom is home to a large soaking tub and ocean-view shower.
If you found yourselves glued to the TV over the festive period, there’s every chance you watched The World’s Most Expensive Christmas Cruise on Channel 5. Since then, you might have been dreaming about treating yourself to an ultra-luxurious getaway, and there’s no finer way to do it than on the ship that featured in the show.
The Regent Suite on board Regent Seven Seas Splendor® measures a massive 371 square metres plus, but space isn’t the only thing for you to marvel at. After a busy day in port, retreat to your very own master bathroom spa – a first for any cruise ship.
There’s also a stunning wraparound balcony, perfect for sitting back and relaxing on with your favour drink in hand, delivered by your personal butler, as you watch the world go by.
Explora Journeys is one of the newest cruise lines to enter the luxury market. The most luxurious cruise suite on board is the Owner’s Residence, which is just as impressive outdoors as it is indoors.
Your very own panoramic ocean-front terrace spans the entire width of the ship. On it you will find a large, private outdoor whirlpool, day beds and an al fresco dining area you can enjoy throughout your cruise.
Wake up in pure comfort each morning from your king-sized bed, having selected your pillows from an extensive menu. You’ll be able to fully appreciate the ever-changing view thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows that really do make this suite a cut above.
Iconic ship, iconic suite. Celebrity Beyond is a behemoth of the fleet and if you want to treat yourself to one of her luxury cruise suites, this is the one to go for. The Iconic Suite is the largest in the fleet, spanning over 2,500 feet of space indoors and out. Complete with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, you’ll really feel like you’ve got your own little slice of paradise.
Of course, you’ll get all the amenities you’d expect from one of the best luxury cruise suites at sea, but also a few little extras that will make you feel extra special. During your time on board Celebrity Beyond, your in-suite beverages will be restocked daily, plus you’ll be able to enjoy unlimited lunch and dinner in all the speciality restaurants. If you’ve not already had your fill, VIP canapés are available, and you’ll get two complimentary bottles of premium spirits.
Head home knowing you’ve already completed some of your chores with your complimentary laundry service, available twice per cruise. Priority luggage delivery also comes as standard, and if you want to shed some cruise pounds, you can get yourself an in-suite Peloton though your Retreat Concierge.
From breakfast on your private veranda, to watching the sun set over the waves from the comfort of your living room, the Owner’s Suite on board Silver Origin has it all.
One of the highlights is undoubtedly the Italian marbled bathroom, where you can soak your troubles away in a whirlpool bath before wrapping yourself in a plush bathrobe and putting on your slippers.
Since Silver Origin is an expedition ship, you’ll also get the added benefit of some complimentary gear to maximise your adventures. A waterproof backpack, raincoat and premium metallic water bottle are yours to make the most of when you head ashore.
World-class indulgence awaits on Scenic Eclipse, and if you’re going to do it from the comfort of a luxury cruise suite, this is a great choice. The Penthouse Owner’s Suite is all about the extra details; from the Dyson hairdryer to the dual vitality mist shower complete with colour light therapy, this is a world away from any other cruise accommodation.
Your mini bar will be stocked with wines, champagne and spirits personalised to your individual tastes. Although you’ll get priority dining in speciality restaurants, there’s also the option to entertain up to eight guests by having a meal served up in your own luxury suite.
Relaxation is the order of the day in the Scenic Eclipse Owner’s Suite, as you’ll receive a complimentary one hour in-suite spa treatment per guest. There’s even a spa day bed that can be transformed for the ultimate in-suite private spa experience.
