Cunard Queen Elizabeth Refit – A First Look

The Cunard Queen Elizabeth refit is scheduled for 2025, delivering new interiors and features to the much-loved ship. Key areas such as the Commodore Club, Queens Room, Panorama Pool Club, Garden Lounge, and The Pavilion will undergo an extensive refurbishment.

When is Queen Elizabeth being refitted?

The ship, which accommodates 2,000 guests, is scheduled to be refitted at Seatrium’s Admiralty Yard in Singapore from 25 February to 13 March 2025. This overhaul is in preparation for Queen Elizabeth’s upcoming Alaska season, which will begin in June from Seattle.

What can we expect from the Cunard Queen Elizabeth refit?

Several key spaces on board the Cunard Queen are set to be enhanced as part of the refit. These include:

Queens Room: The revamped design includes a new dance floor, updated soft furnishings, and furniture, setting an elegant stage for Cunard’s renowned Afternoon Tea, live music, and ballroom dancing.

Commodore Club: Revitalised with new furniture, fixtures, and fittings, this club will provide guests with an improved ambience to unwind with cocktails, while soaking in breathtaking ocean vistas.

Pavilion Pool: The addition of a new Wellness Café with an expanded menu, alongside a chic bar and updated poolside furniture, will offer a welcoming environment for guests during Cunard’s Caribbean cruises.

Staterooms and Suites: Enhancements in each stateroom include upgraded in-room entertainment, the addition of new USB ports, balcony furniture, mattresses, and soft furnishings.

Will the Grills Suites be revamped?

Yes! Cunard’s Grills Experience will benefit from several enhancements, including refreshed exteriors, plush furnishings, and other elements to deliver ultimate comfort and style.

Queen Elizabeth’s refit will also include improvements to the Grills dining experience. It will feature a special menu crafted exclusively by renowned chef Michel Roux for guests staying in Grills suites. The three-course Gala Evening menu, available across the Cunard fleet, will feature dishes carefully chosen to showcase the very best of gastronomy at sea.

Michel Roux commented: “Crafting exclusive new menus for Cunard’s Grills guests is an extraordinary privilege. This project allows me to blend my passion for fine dining with the timeless elegance and sophistication that define the Cunard Grills experience. Each dish is carefully created to celebrate the finest ingredients, ensuring every meal is as special as the voyage itself. I’m incredibly fond of my partnership with Cunard and I’m really excited to continue this luxury collaboration in 2025.”

Where can I travel on Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth after her refit?

The Cunard Queen Elizabeth refit is in anticipation of a new Alaska season starting from Seattle in June, followed by an inaugural voyage from Miami to the Caribbean on 16 October. The Caribbean season begins with a 12-night roundtrip from Miami.

In a first for Cunard, one of their iconic ships will be stationed in Miami for an entire season. Queen Elizabeth will host a series of roundtrip Caribbean voyages, with itineraries varying from nine to 28 nights.
