Emerald Cruises has taken delivery of its first luxury superyacht, Emerald Azzurra, ahead of her inaugural sailing next month.
She is the first of two groundbreaking superyachts to join the fleet, with sister ship Emerald Sakara poised to enter operation in February 2023.
Glen Moroney, Founder and Chairman of the Scenic Group, said: “Today marks a major moment for our team at Emerald Cruises as the first in our fleet of ocean-going superyachts takes a giant step towards completion. We look forward to welcoming our first guests on board Emerald Azzurra and we are confident she will exceed all expectations. The demand has been unprecedented with her inaugural season almost fully sold.”
The inaugural cruise will be sailing on 11 March 2022, an eight-day journey around the Red Sea. Emerald Azzurra will then transit the Suez Canal and embark on a series of cruises to the Mediterranean and Adriatic coast over the summer months.
In a first for yacht cruising, Emerald Azzurra will feature an infrared sauna. Of the 50 suites on board, more than 88% have a balcony, offering more space per guest than other ships of her size. Paddleboards and snorkelling equipment are available for guests to enjoy, as well as electronic bikes ideal for exploring port destinations.
