Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced an exciting 98-day world cruise on board Borealis, departing from Southampton on 21 January 2027. Guests will be able to enjoy a four-day experience in Hawaii and explore five distinct Japanese ports, strategically planned outside the peak tourist season and during the breathtaking late plum blossom season.
This extraordinary journey will feature numerous bucket-list experiences, including whale watching across the Caribbean, Mexico, and Hawaii, and the chance to view the stunning Symphony of Lights showcasing Hong Kong’s spectacular skyline. Among the journey’s notable attractions are visits to Pearl Harbor, the modern marvel of Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, and adventurous safaris in South Africa in search of the ‘Big Five’.
Moreover, Borealis will navigate the renowned Panama Canal, an iconic engineering marvel that connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, adding an educational and historical dimension to this unforgettable adventure.
Martin Lister, Head of Product Innovation at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: “This is a truly special voyage of discovery and one that we have had great fun in curating, designed especially to showcase iconic landmarks, diverse cultures and natural wonders across some world-renowned cities and wonderful hidden gems.
“An undoubted highlight will be the extended call into Japan, at a time of year when there will be fewer crowds and the chance to witness the beauty of the late plum blossom season. With five ports of call, guests explore many ancient castles and temples, take in breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, ride the bullet train in Osaka and join us for a maiden call into Shimizu.
“Later, a four-day call to Hawaii will allow ample time to explore the archipelago’s volcanic landscapes, pristine beaches and lush rainforests, embrace the spirit of Aloha at a traditional Luau and sample delicious local cuisine.”
Guests who book by 7 May 2025 will benefit from Fred. Olsen’s Freedom Fare Price Promise. This is Fred. Olsen’s guarantee that if a guest books a Freedom Fare within the first four weeks of a cruise going on sale, they are guaranteed the best value – or will receive a cabin upgrade or onboard spending credit if the fare is later reduced.
Additionally, all guests joining this World Cruise will benefit from Fred. Olsen’s new inclusive pricing. This means that everyone who books a Freedom Fare will be able to enjoy full board dining; house beers, wines, spirits, and draught soft drinks with lunch and dinner; entertainment and enrichment activities; shuttle buses when the port is more than a mile from the ship; guided social strolls at selected ports; fitness classes; crew gratuities, and port taxes and fees – all included in the cost of their initial cruise fare.
