Fred. Olsen to Welcome Simon Weston on Falklands Cruise

Fred. Olsen will be welcoming war veteran Simon Weston CBE on board when Balmoral visits the Falkland Islands in 2023. He will be on the cruise for 14 nights for the South American leg of the epic 78-night voyage.

The cruise from Southampton will depart on 5 January 2023 and is set to dock at lesser-visited parts of the world, including the Galapagos and Patagonian Fjords, Rio De Janeiro, and the ancient site of Machu Picchu.

Helen Bennett, Entertainments and Enrichment Manager at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, commented:

We are so pleased to be welcoming Simon on board. His experience can add real insight to our guests as Balmoral sails to the Falkland Isles. His story is one of achievement and triumph in the face of adversity, and we know our guests will value learning more about his journey and about the Falklands War.

Simon Weston CBE is well known for his charity work and has become a motivational speaker and broadcaster after sustaining considerable burns during the Falklands War in 1982.

Alan Warner, who represents Simon at Champions UK, said:

Simon absolutely loves cruising, seeing new places and meeting new and interesting people on board. He is passionate about sharing his experiences during the Falklands campaign and life afterwards.
