Holland America Line will be offering longer Alaska cruises in 2024, allowing guests a deeper exploration of the US state. Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zaandam will be sailing the programme, which gets underway in April 2024.
Among the season’s highlights will be a 28-day Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice cruise on board Westerdam. Departing 9 June 2024, the sailing will be just in time for the Summer Solstice and will be a round-trip from Seattle. This itinerary is the first of its kind for Holland America Line and includes ports of call such as Anchorage, Juneau and Seward. Scenic cruising will also form a key part of the voyage, taking in the likes of Glacier Bay, the Inside Passage, Tracy Arm, College Fjord, Little Diomede Island, Prince William Sound and Hubbard Glacier.
The 14-day Great Alaskan Explorer offers an in-depth adventure that includes eight ports on a round-trip from Vancouver. There will also be shorter options throughout 2024, such as seven-day Alaska Inside Passage and Alaskan Explorer, departing Vancouver and Seattle respectively.
Beth Bodensteiner, Chief Commercial Officer of Holland America Line, said: “Holland America Line is proud of our rich history of bringing the best service at sea to Alaska, and we’re excited to reveal details of our 2024 season including a new monthlong Arctic Circle itinerary that is the most immersive we’ve ever offered in this region.”
Every ship embarking on a Holland America Line Alaska cruise in 2024 enables guests to engage with an Alaska naturalist and explore local topics such as Alaska’s bush pilots and the famous Iditarod race. Cruises visiting Glacier Bay will take on a National Park Ranger and local Huna Tlingit guides.
