Norwegian Cruise Line has announced it will be launching Norwegian Luna in 2026, with the inaugural season already open for bookings. The new NCL ship will embark on various roundtrip cruises from Miami, starting 4 April 2026, through to November of the same year. The ship sets sail on its first Caribbean adventure with two voyages to the western region, calling at Roatan Island, Honduras, Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. Norwegian Luna will also stop at Harvest Caye, Belize, NCL’s tailor-made resort destination.
Later in the season, Luna will cruise the Eastern Caribbean for seven-day excursions to the picturesque destinations of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island.
Norwegian Luna stretches over 1,056 feet in length, boasts a gross tonnage of 156,300, and is set to accommodate around 3,550 guests based on double occupancy. This marks a 10 per cent expansion in both size and guest capacity over other Prima Class ships, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Luna is the sister ship to the forthcoming Norwegian Aqua.
Matching its sibling’s luxurious offerings, Norwegian Luna is set to wow its guests with exclusive features such as the Aqua Slidecoaster – a unique blend of a rollercoaster and waterslide, billed as the fastest and longest at sea. The ship will also offer a digital sports complex, Glow Court, which morphs into an electrifying nightclub after sunset. Moreover, the Luna will retain popular NCL amenities like The Drop, the adrenaline-pumping 10-storey freefall slide, and the Stadium, which hosts a suite of complimentary activities in the great outdoors.
David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line, said: “Inspired by the relationship between the moon and the tides of the ocean, we are excited to introduce Norwegian Luna as the vessel that perfectly complements her sister ship, Norwegian Aqua.
“The debut of Norwegian Luna truly showcases our ongoing commitment to providing guests more of what they enjoy and value – a brand-new ship with the latest, innovative offerings sailing to the beautiful, tropical destinations of the Caribbean. It’s important to give our guests more to see, more to do, more to enjoy on board and ultimately more out of their cruise vacation. We can’t wait for them to experience Norwegian Luna!”
