Passenger Locator Form Removed for UK Arrivals

All remaining travel restrictions for arrivals into the UK will be removed from Friday, 18 March, including the requirement to complete a passenger locator form. The changes will apply to anyone arriving in the UK after 4am on this date in what is being hailed as a major step forward for the wider travel industry.

Testing has also been removed for passengers who do not qualify as fully vaccinated, meaning they will no longer need to take a pre-departure Covid-19 test and day two post-arrival test. All remaining hotel quarantine sites will be stood down at the end of the month.

Announcing the changes, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said:

I said we wouldn’t keep travel measures in place for any longer than necessary, which we’re delivering on today – providing more welcome news and greater freedom for travellers ahead of the Easter holidays.

I look forward to continuing to work with the travel sector and partners around the world to keep international travel moving.

The government confirmed it would keep a series of contingency measures in place should they ever be required.
