P&O Cruises Collaborates With Salcombe Gin To Create Exclusive Marabelle Gin

P&O Cruises has revealed it is to collaborate with award-winning distiller, Salcombe Gin, to create exclusive gins on new ship Iona.

The maiden production run of Marabelle Gin will take place in Iona’s custom-made still, Columba; the very first distillery at sea. This one-of-a-kind gin will be distilled, bottled and labelled on board. Bottles of the exclusive Marabelle Gin will be available to purchase on the ship.

Following Marabelle Gin’s launch on board Iona, Salcombe Distilling Co. will distil the unique recipe in its 450-litre copper still ‘Provident’ in Salcombe, ready to share and serve across ships in the P&O Cruises fleet. The gin will not be available anywhere else besides onboard the ships. P&O Cruises is also working with Salcombe Distilling Co. to develop limited-edition gins that celebrate the destinations visited by guests with the cruise line.

The partnership with the Salcombe Distilling Co. will also see guests have the opportunity to get their creative energies flowing on one of two gin masterclasses. The first will see an expert reveal the secrets to distilling deliciously smooth gin, complete with a tasting session, while the second class is set to be a more intimate gathering offering the chance to create your own gin recipe.
