If you’re considering an Ambassador drinks package, the good news is there’s no shortage of options to satisfy your needs. There are, in fact, four different packages to choose from – but what exactly is included in an Ambassador Cruise Line drinks package? And are they worth the upgrade?
Here, we answer all those burning questions and give you all the facts and figures you need to come to that all-important final decision.
As we’ve mentioned, there are four different drinks packages available if you’re sailing with Ambassador. The prices below apply for cruises with a duration of between five and 29 nights. Scroll further down to see short cruise Ambassador drinks package prices.
The prices quoted below are per person, per night and reflect the fare payable when booking more than seven days in advance of a cruise.
Quick guide | |
☕ Ambassador Experience Package | from £18 pp, per night |
Ambassador Explorer Package | from £33 pp, per night |
Ambassador Expedition Package | from £38 pp, per night |
Ambassador Adventurers Package (only for children) | from £11 pp, per night |
This is where it gets a bit more complicated. Ambassador drinks package prices will depend on how long your cruise is, and whether it’s charged per night or per cruise. It is also cheaper to book your Ambassador Cruise Line drinks package more than seven days before you board – after this time, the full onboard price will apply.
What is included in your package will depend on which one you have selected.
Gratuities and service charges are included in the Ambassador cruise line drinks package prices, with the exception of the Ambassador Adventurers Package, for children aged three to 11.
Note that the Ambassador Adventurers Package is only available on multi-generational cruises and all adult occupants of the cabin need to buy an Ambassador Drinks Package.
On two, three and four-night cruises, you will pay a set amount for the drinks package for the whole of your time on board.
Ambassador Experience Package (prices quoted are per person, per night when pre-booked more than seven days before departure).
Ambassador Explorer Package (prices quoted are per person, per night when pre-booked more than seven days before departure).
Ambassador Expedition Package (prices quoted are per person, per night when pre-booked more than seven days before departure).
It is possible to buy an Ambassador drinks package on board, but the prices will be higher than quoted above.
The easiest – and most affordable – option is to purchase your drinks package more than seven days prior to your cruise. However, it is possible to buy it on board, although this must be done within 24 hours of boarding the ship. The cut-off date will be published in the daily programme of events.
No matter which option you decide on, it will include any drinks and snacks taken from your in-cabin mini bar, including bottled water. Tea and coffee ordered in the bars are also not included, with the exception of the Ambassador Expedition Package.
Any speciality coffees that include alcohol will be counted towards your 15-beverage limit.
Ambassador drinks packages won’t be for everyone. In fact, we found that many of the pay-as-you-go drinks prices on board were favourable. For example:
