Celebrity Xcel Named As Fifth Edge Series Ship

Celebrity Cruises has unveiled the name of the fifth vessel in its acclaimed Edge Series – Celebrity Xcel. This new ship aims to build upon the pioneering features of her sister ships and raise the bar even higher, delivering an unrivalled premium vacation experience.

The announcement took place at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. During the event, executives from both the Royal Caribbean Group, which encompasses Celebrity Cruises among its fleet of elite cruise brands, and the shipyard itself, marked the occasion by cutting the first piece of steel for the new ship.

Scheduled to debut in the Caribbean in November 2025, Celebrity Xcel will sail her inaugural winter season from Fort Lauderdale. The seven-night itineraries will alternate among destinations like the Bahamas, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten, and bookings have already begun.

Just like her eagerly awaited sister ship, Celebrity Ascent, set to launch later this month, Celebrity Xcel plans to provide guests with unparalleled connections to the world beyond.
