Join Bolsover Cruise Club’s Sales Manager, Helen Moore, as she becomes one of the first to step aboard new Silversea debutante, Silver Moon. Here’s a first look at the new Silversea ship, along with Helen’s thoughts (spoiler – it blew her away!)
Where do I begin? I have so much to say about Silver Moon, I just don’t know where to start!
I had the pleasure of sailing on Silver Moon a week ago and WOW it certainly took me to the moon and back. The elegant new Silversea ship holds a total of 596 guests, very small compared to some ships which makes it feel so friendly and means a one-to-one service. She was so spacious and featured so much, from my beautiful suite with the biggest bed I have ever seen to a full-size bath and shower, walk-in wardrobe with safe, a sitting area, veranda and not forgetting my personal Butler who I wanted to take home with me. She was so wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, from running a bath for you or stocking your bar, to arranging dining in your cabin, packing or unpacking your suitcase, or just saying hello every day.
The ship’s décor is very sophisticated and understated, with stunning artwork and beautiful Lalique glass on the walls and table settings. The dining rooms are stunning, and the food is something else. The wine complements the meal and the deserts are sweet heaven. I really enjoyed the al fresco dining in the evening as we sailed out the ports under the stars with panoramic views.
I spent an hour in the S.A.L.T Kitchen, where I made my own moussaka as the chef talked through the history of the dish and how to cook the ingredients correctly. If anyone knows me, I am not a good cook to say the least, but it inspired me and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t think I would ever say that.
Leading a very busy life, I don’t often take the time to wind down, however Silver Moon had a special kind of atmosphere and I relaxed in no time.
The outside areas are inviting, from the pool and jacuzzis to the comfortable sun beds or full-size day beds to have a snooze and sunbathe on. As all drinks are included, there is always a fresh beverage waiting for you. To be honest, I wanted for nothing.
There is so much more I could tell you, but I must leave some things a surprise.
I can honestly say I have never experienced luxury like Silver Moon.

We have just returned from a 10 day cruise aboard the “Silver Moon” , Silversea’s new ship . Travelling on over 50 Cruises over the past 35 years and I have never been disappointed with any of my choices of cruise ships to sail on , but the cuisine InThe “Antlantide Restaurant “ on the “Silver Moon” needs a special mention. The only other Restaurant we tried on the ship was La Dame which was also truly exceptional. How are these “six star” ships get any better ? It beats me !
All other facets of the ship were outstanding from health management, cleanliness , service and a quite amazing crew of staff members & officers.
Hi Robert. Thank you for your comments, we’re glad to hear you had such a lovely cruise on Silver Moon.
