Holland America Line has revealed details of their 2024 Grand Australia and New Zealand Voyage, which has been a decade in the making. Departing from San Diego, California on 3 January 2024, the 94-day round-trip on board Volendam can be separated into two shorter voyages, should guests prefer.
Calling at a total of 43 ports, 17 of which are around the Australian continent, passengers will be treated to two full days of scenic cruising in the Great Barrier Reef. Other highlights include evening departures in Honolulu and Brisbane, and a call at Komodo Island with the opportunity to see the famed Komodo dragon.
Overnight calls will be made in Fremantle, Perth, as well as Sydney, Auckland and Papeete in Tahiti during the Holland America Line 2024 Grand Australia and New Zealand Voyage.
Beth Bodensteiner, Chief Commercial Officer of Holland America Line, said: “Australia continues to be a sought-after cruising destination, and by offering it as a Grand Voyage we’re able to take our time and feature other beautiful locales like the islands of the South Pacific, New Zealand and the Great Barrier Reef.
“It’s been more than 10 years since we’ve offered this Grand Voyage itinerary, and we listened to our guests who requested that we bring it back.”
Guests embarking on the Grand Voyage can expect to see local cultural entertainment on board Volendam, as well as appearances from special guest headliners. Menus also change regularly and feature local ingredients and regional cuisine.
