If you read last week’s Princess Cruises blog post, you’ll have seen our pick of the best ways to fill your sea days on a Princess Cruises holiday. We had ideas to keep the grown-ups happy for days (if not weeks!), along with the Jr.CHEF@Sea and Jnr. Ranger programmes for younger passengers. But we don’t want you to think that’s all Princess Cruises offer their junior seafarers!
Did you know kids travelling with Princess Cruises can expect all of this, and more?
Princess Pelicans
Kids aged between 3 and 7 years old? Princess Pelicans will keep them entertained for hours on end with non-stop activities including:
Unleash a creative side with arts and crafts (feathers, glue and glitter as standard!). Klutz craft activities will see imaginations run wild and daily gifts for mum and dad, courtesy of the day’s crafty sessions. T-shirt colouring is always popular and a must for budding fashionistas!
Budding singer? Secret comedian? Future professional dancer? Show off those talents at the Princess Pelicans talent shows. Think the X-Factor, with more glamour and less Simon Cowell.
Disco nights and dance parties are the perfect place to brush up on the latest dance moves and sing along to pop tracks galore. Pyjama parties leave the glitter and glam outfits behind for their favourite pyjamas and cuddly toy.
With ice cream every afternoon (loaded with sprinkles and juice!), pizza and ice cream parties, and kid’s-only dinners, Princess Pelicans will never go hungry! In fact, the hardest part will be getting them to leave the kid’s club behind and join you for dinner!
Shockwaves
Designed especially for ages 8 to 12, Shockwaves is a hive of activity all day and right into the evening. Kids of all ages love their food, so those at Shockwaves will still enjoy the ice cream and pizza feasts, and the kids-only dinners, but they’ll also be kept busy with activities including;
PlayStation and Wii tournaments – a must for those that can’t bear to be parted from their games console for too long. With tournaments every day, there is always an opportunity to show off those gaming skills.
Scavenger hunts and ‘Science of the Seas’ programmes will appeal to budding explorers and adventurers, while the Jr.CHEF@Sea programme might just unearth the next Gordon Ramsay!
Sports fans can run off some energy in football, basketball and tennis tournaments, before refuelling with a slice of pizza. Those who prefer the stage to the sports court can head to the Shockwaves Talent Show, stopping by on route to becoming the next big thing!
Remix
Anyone who thinks cruising is boring has clearly never stopped by at the Remix club, where teens aged 13 to 17 can kick back with new found mates and enjoy a holiday of their own.
PlayStation and Wii tournaments will encourage that competitive spirit, as will sports competitions that take the activity outside and onto the sports court. Hip-hop dance classes will provide the groundwork for new moves to show off to the hottest tracks at the Remix dance parties.
Calvin Harris is the world’s biggest earning DJ and we think he may well have (probably) honed his skills aboard a Princess Cruise (maybe). Who knows, the next Remix DJ workshop may well lead to a Vegas residency, or at the very least a new found hobby to impress your mates back home!
Teen makeovers create hair and beauty transformations just in time for endless pizza parties, ‘Mocktail’ parties and teens-only formal dinners. Late-night movies and hot-tub parties are endlessly popular, and might mean the only time you see your teen is at bedtime and lining up ready to explore on shore days!
Note
Children are welcome on all Princess cruise ships, but facilities vary. Pacific Princess and Ocean Princess do not have dedicated Youth and Teen Centres. However, when 20 or more children aged 3 to 17 are travelling on these ships, they will enjoy a varied schedule of supervised activities organised by a Youth Activities Manager.
