Spirit of the Moselle to Join Saga Fleet in July 2025

Saga river cruises is set to increase its fleet with a new river cruise ship, Spirit of the Moselle, set to join from July 2025.

Echoing the design of its sister ships, Spirit of the Rhine, introduced in 2021, and Spirit of the Danube, which entered service in 2022, Spirit of the Moselle will extend Saga’s commitment to boutique aesthetics across both river and ocean cruising, and aims to offer a superior cruise experience on Europe’s renowned waterways.

With a capacity for 172 guests, Spirit of the Moselle will boast 92 cabins, 73 of which will feature a French Balcony. There’s a large number of single cabins too. The ship will draw design inspiration from her sister ships, emphasising bright and spacious environments.

Adorned with floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light will suffuse Spirit of the Moselle, with its lounge and bar area poised to become the social centre of the ship. The panoramic restaurant will offer buffet breakfasts, with lunch and dinner served by wait staff. Meanwhile, a cosy dining section at the stern will provide an idyllic setting for exclusive gatherings. The ship’s sun deck will host lounge chairs and seating, perfect for absorbing the surroundings, complemented by a lower sun terrace accessible when the main deck is not in use.

The maiden season of Spirit of the Moselle will begin in July 2025, with special Christmas and New Year voyages among those on offer. Predominantly cruising the Main, her itineraries will spotlight destinations such as Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Bamberg, and the UNESCO-listed Rhine Gorge.
