The Celebrity Revolution Is Coming

Who knew that Celebrity Edge would be but the beginning of a revolution for Celebrity Cruises? As we count down the days to the launch of what is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated cruise ships of the year, the ‘Modern Luxury’ cruise line has knocked us off our feet with news of The Celebrity Revolution.

It began with Celebrity Edge, a ship unlike anything we’ve seen at sea so far, designed to get you closer to your destinations than ever. Then there was Celebrity Flora, the first ship designed purely with the Galapagos Islands in mind. Now, Celebrity Cruises are bringing together more than 500 architects, designers and engineers for the biggest modernisation project in their history. The Celebrity Revolution will take inspiration from Celebrity Edge and transform the entire award-winning Celebrity Cruises fleet in a makeover totalling $500-million. THE RETREAT SUNDECK & THE RETREAT LOUNGE

In November, Celebrity Edge will debut an exclusive sanctuary for Suite Class guests called The Retreat. Soon, Celebrity Cruises will roll out the haute hideaway fleetwide. The Retreat Sundeck and The Retreat Lounge, both designed by the eminent Kelly Hoppen, will recreate the chic sophistication of a high-end resort, with plush sun loungers and some of the best cocktails at sea. The Retreat Lounge will replace Michael’s Club, with Kelly’s interiors setting the scene for leisurely days and evenings with live music, gourmet nibbles and complimentary drinks. With a dedicated concierge service on hand in the exclusive lounge, the only time you’ll have to lift a finger is to enjoy your cocktail. As a Suite Class guest, you’ll still have access to the beautiful Luminae restaurant too, of course.

CHIC SUITES & STATEROOMS

Kelly Hoppen will also turn her hand to transforming suites across the Celebrity Cruises fleet, infusing them with her signature East meets West style, plush with soft tones, clean lines and an understated opulence that is unmistakeably high-end. They won’t be the same as those on Celebrity Edge but they’ll be equally as impressive.

“This was a new and exciting challenge to recreate something stylish and luxurious yet totally different from the accommodations that I have designed for Celebrity Edge,” said Hoppen. “I wanted to invoke a feeling of timeless luxury that welcomed guests into their own haven. Your bedroom is where you sleep and where you wake, two of the most important times of day, especially when you are on vacation. It was important to create space, harmony and luxury within a home away from home setting and I think we achieved this balance perfectly.”

It isn’t only suites set for a facelift; every single stateroom on board every ship in the Celebrity Cruises fleet will be rethought. With inspiration drawn from the world’s most beautiful boutique hotels, you can expect fresh colours, soft lighting and luxurious Cashmere mattresses. Bedtimes have never looked quite so tempting and you might just find yourself struggling to leave your home-from-home behind when the next destination rolls into view.

GOOD FOOD & GREAT NIGHTS

Eating well never makes us as happy as it does when we’re on holiday and Celebrity Cruises are set to open your world and delight your palette with more globally inspired culinary experiences.

A new bright and airy design will transform the Oceanview Café into one of the most relaxing spots in which to grab a bite to eat on board, with international delicacies from island to island served up with a smile. The ambience in the sleek Rendezvous Lounge will switch up effortlessly from day to night, whether you’re sampling handmade cocktails at a larger-than-before bar or hiding away with your holiday read.

The virtual Le Petit Chef experience was always set to be a game-changer on Celebrity Edge and now you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at its magic whichever ship you’re on, as it rolls out when guest-favourite Qsine goes fleetwide. The Passport Bar will be reimagined and Celebrity Cruises’ famous Gastrobar concept will satisfy a love of craft beer with more than 40 different brews, plus creative cocktails and gourmet comfort food. We’re getting hungry just thinking about it! Holidaying with Celebrity Cruises has never been a tastier proposition.

RETAIL THERAPY

Celebrity Cruises already appeals to our shopaholic tendencies with some of the best retail therapy at sea. Now, The Celebrity Revolution will take things up a notch, introducing high-end boutiques from the world’s hottest designer names such as John Hardy and Hublot. Prepare to say a little prayer for your plastic…

SAVING THE SEAS

Celebrity Cruises are investing some of that enormous $500-million Celebrity Revolution budget into conserving our seas and making the fleet more eco-friendly than ever. It’s all part of a grand plan to increase fuel efficiency on Celebrity Millennium Class ships by 20% and reduce emissions, meaning we leave less of a footprint on the places we visit.
