The Mandara Spa on Norwegian Escape – Norwegian Cruise Line

When the 4,200-passenger Norwegian Escape launches in October 2015 it will house the largest thermal suite at sea, and while the Mandara Spa is already a favourite feature throughout the NCL fleet, its latest incarnation promises to be the most impressive yet. Features include 17 heated loungers, hydrotherapy pool, whirlpools, steam room, dry sauna, Sanarium, salt room, and 24 treatment rooms (in which to enjoy at least one of 50 tempting treatments on an extensive list). A full-service beauty salon and separate Barber Shop will have both guys and girls polished and ready to impress on formal night.

Without doubt, it is Norwegian Escape’s new ‘Snow Room’ that looks set to be the coolest attraction at sea (literally). Taking chilling in the spa to a whole new level, the icy retreat will be set to a cool 21-32 degrees Fahrenheit, with snow blizzards filling the room throughout the day. Designed to boost blood circulation and the immune system, the facility has only recently begun to appear in the world’s most exclusive spas and will be the first of its kind on the seas.

Canyon Ranch SpaClub on Queen Mary 2 – Cunard

The two-deck, 20,000sq ft. spa on board Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 allows guests to enjoy the world-class spa services of Canyon Ranch SpaClub from all four corners of the world. Over 60 treatments are on offer in 24 treatment rooms, with Reiki, Reflexology and Chiropractic treatments appearing on a list beside facials, body wraps and acupuncture. The Aqua Therapy Centre sits at the heart of Queen Mary’s spa, housing an Aqua Therapy pool, aromatic steam room, Finnish sauna, herbal sauna, ice fountain, Reflexology basin and sensory showers.

Canyon Ranch SpaClub on Celebrity Solstice – Celebrity Cruises

Like Cunard, Celebrity Cruises’ spa is run by Canyon Ranch SpaClub; a world-class destination spa, 13 time winner of Travel + Leisure magazine’s Best Spa Award and the only 11-time winner of the Condé Nast Traveler Best Destination Spa Award.

Canyon Ranch SpaClub’s offering on board Celebrity Solstice is a Persian Garden retreat, complete with heated loungers (sea view as standard), a combination of traditional and Asian-inspired therapies, extensive treatment list and some of the most luxurious spa surroundings at sea.

AquaClass Staterooms take the Celebrity Cruises spa experience to another level. The Spa at Seabourn, on board Seabourn Quest, is the largest spa of the Seabourn fleet at 8,820sq ft. and offers some of the most innovative facilities and advanced treatments at sea; the Kneipp Walk uses a soothing water therapy system of alternating baths of cold and warm water to stimulate the circulatory system, boost the metabolism and alleviate stress. The SkinCeuticals regenerating facial takes anti-aging skincare to a new level, while the 24 karat gold facial is the ultimate luxury treatment.
