The largest cruise ship in the world and the latest in Royal Caribbean’s fleet has officially left the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
The fifth Oasis-class ship for Royal Caribbean is now bound for Marseilles, where it will undergo final fitting ahead of crossing the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale in March 2022. It was originally scheduled to launch in 2020 and sail in China, however the pandemic forced the cruise line to postpone the build of the ship.
Wonder of the Seas will feature several new attractions for both the industry and the cruise line, including a brand-new Suite Class neighbourhood for Royal Suite passengers. A cantilevered bar extending over the edge of the ship will also debut for the first time on a Royal Caribbean ship.
Wonder of the Seas will debut in Fort Lauderdale next March, sailing to the Bahamas and Caribbean before repositioning to the Mediterranean for summer cruises from Barcelona and Rome (Civitavecchia).
